Features many personally beloved sites full of wonderful artists, please give lots of respect and love to the webmasters shown below. While this page is still under construction for written summaries, the links should be functional.
Large collection dating back to 2013. Blog owner has various ties with others within the noise community including collaborations. Now owns a personal blog with download links of music, art, and zines of various bands and even their own works.
“The intention is to promote people who make beautiful music.” Massive collection created back in 2009. Popular archival blog site for experimental-heads with an emphasis on obscure releases and bands. Includes many writtens blurbs and download links.
“a one-stop shop for electronic music interviews, reviews, rants & raves.” Please check out this site, ignore the fact that it’s been radio silent since 2011. There are download links, in-depth reviews, interviews, and dozens of music labels and other websites attached to this. It practically works as a 13-in-1 shampoo bottle in addition to the clean and easy to navigate layout. Do note that a lot of the media attached has been lost to time, archive everything for yourself.
“Something for everyone to hate” Aged archive dating as far back as 2008. Great selection for noise, industrial, and power electronic fans. Unfortunately most of the oldest download links are dead and the blog owner hasn’t posted for the entirety of 2024, so please save whatever is still available. It still stands as an interesting discography showcase on its own.
Admittedly a bit of a headache to look at but my site is devoid of any personality so who am I to complain. The headache is worth it as Jonny has created nearly 3,000 posts about unique albums with new perspectives and reviews on said releases. The blog has existed since 2009 (sort-of), now boasting an artistic etsy shop to directly support the site, an invitation-only shadow club, and too much more. In all seriousness, please visit to see and help donate to the “Save The Pangolins” program shown.
This one is special, a forum site that was started in 2009 (official birthday on Jan 5th, 2010). Fairly active social site with an emphasis on Neofolk, Dark Ambient, Post-Punk, Power-electronics and other genres related to it. There are large forms with many individual threads for each artist, allowing discussions and trading of media. Do note in order to get the most out of this site, you have to make an account as viewing certain pages isn’t allowed for guests. Some users also encourage deleting pirated material to instead directly support musicians, so some files may be excerpts/samples rather than full collections. Remain respectful to all and have fun.
The RYM Box Set is a must-visit for any music nerd as they have practically every significant genre nicely wrapped in a list reviewed and tweaked by hundreds of users. Experimental genres are no exception to this as there are 32 separate playlists under the umbrella. There’s even sources and major music labels entries in the PE box set, a great list for beginners too. If you are unsatisfied with the final selections, be the change you want to see in the world and simply, firmly (but still kindly) share suggestions or join the RYM Box Discord Server to help.
